Cartographies of the Elqui ValleyProf: Juan Domingo Santos + Carmen Moreno. Collab: Prof. Mauricio Sánchez (UC) and Marcelo Retamal (oenologist).

The Elqui Valley, located in the IV Region in the ‘Norte Chico’ of Chile, represents an arid territory that ranges from the Pacific Ocean to the Andes, where human transformation influenced by the superposition of indigenous cultures and settlers, has resulted in a landscape culture rooted ina viticultural activity based on a way of interpreting the territory.

The compilation of cartographies that relfect the cultural relationship with existing nature and the activity carried out, aim to cast a more global look on this anthropized landscape.
